Brain Breaks for Music Class

These brain break task cards (not with editable versions) are geared for students in the K-8 music class and offer choices for you to use in addition to the “Freeze Game/Dance” you are probably already using. Brain breaks are quick (usually 1-2 minutes in length) activities that involve mind and body challenges. They really help students to refocus and students always look forward to them – mine even remind me if I forgot to set the timer! These activities are mostly music-themed activities and relate to our content standards. Check out my Freeze Dances too – they even contain videos w/music (license obtained to use music)!

There are 54 cards (six cards to a page) with quick brain break activities that are good for even the middle school students. 24 editable cards (in either PowerPoint or PDF and includes color as well as B&W options) are included for you to add additional ones. An extra page is provided for you to add your own favorites! Colored AND Black & white versions are both included. The colored ones are adorable but for those who don’t have access to color printing the B&W version will look fabulous whether printed on white or colored paper. As another option you can choose to print only the face cards.

I print mine out on card stock paper, laminate then cut out to make them last for years.
