If you teach K-8 students about our national anthem you know it’s difficult for them to understand what they are singing. I created this “rap” to help my students. Included in this resource is a copy of the real words to the “Star-Spangled Banner” (first verse only) as well as the lyrics to my rap. You will also receive two digital recordings of the rap, though I do not claim to be a professional recording artist (just your average rhyming music teacher). One recording is with lyrics and the other is without. You can always add your own rap background (like one your students create) to the lyrics. I hope your students enjoy this rap as much as mine do.
